Children's Choirs

At Creator we have an active ministry for our children and youth, and one of the most important components of this ministry is our Creator Children’s Choirs. We have two choirs, the Bell Choir and the Apprentice Choir, based primarily on the age of the singers. Both choirs sing for the 10:30am Worship Service at various times throughout the year, approximately once a month during the school year, and generally more often during Advent and Lent.

The goal of the choirs is to promote camaraderie, an appreciation for our Episcopal tradition, and self-esteem, while developing musicianship and leadership abilities.

The Apprentice Choir is composed primarily of our middle school youth – grades 6 through 9. Rehearsal time is 5:50 – 6:00pm on Wednesdays.

The Bell Choir is composed of our youngest children of school age - grades 2 through 5. Rehearsal time is 6:00 – 6:30pm on Wednesdays, followed by WOW! (What's on Wednesdays).

You do not have to be a great singer to join the Children's Choir! All are welcome and all can learn to sing! If your child is interested in becoming a member of one of our choirs, please contact us.

Our choir director is Jolyne Shirley, graduate of The American Musical & Dramatic Academy, NYC.

Our accompanists are Shirlene Gill and Beverly Shaw, current and retired music department accompanists for Hinds Community College.
