The funeral guild is a group of church members who are called on when a death occurs. These people provide comfort as needed to the family. For example, if the family has the visitation at the church, we are here to provide support for them, such as Kleenex, shoulders, hugs, tears, and last, but not least food and drink.

We have coffee and muffins if it is a morning service and provide a light lunch for the family after the service, if they wish. Each service is different, number of people varies, so we adapt to each situation. We are here to ease the burdens that the family must deal with and provide them with some comfort at perhaps the most difficult time of their life. And, of course, food always comforts us!

Emily George and Linda Smith are the coordinators of the Funeral Guild. Anyone who would like to be involved in this important ministry should call Emily or Linda or the church office.

The unique part of this ministry is the sudden occurrence prevents advance planning, so the same people are not always available to help! Therefore, we need a long list of people who possibly can be available.
